Rubber Mulch and The Benefits

Children love being outside and spending quality time at the local playground.  A loving parent enjoys taking their children to the park.  All parents fear their children getting injured.  Accidents happen unfortunately, but thanks to rubber mulch which is being used for school and commercial playgrounds, accidents are occurring less often.

Rubber mulch is now a very popular product for several reasons.  This special mulch is made from recycled tires which has helped save the environment.  This product is highly economical, safe and long lasting.  It can be used nearly anywhere from commercial playgrounds to equestrian arenas.  The rubber mulch can even be used for your personal garden.

There are five different types of Rubber mulch.  The playsafer rubber mulch, playsafer rubber bond, landscape rubber mulch, surefoot arena footing and rubber curbs and wearmats.   Each product is composed of special ingredients to serve specific purposes.  The playsafer rubber bond is actually an improvement of the playsafer rubber mulch.  This product contains a layer of high quality high polyurethane which makes the school playground safer.  The polyurethane bond adds extra absorbancy and protection.  This product involves little maintenance as well.

The landscape rubber mulch will help sustain your garden during cold and hot months.  This mulch is very unique because it will not blow away, is cost effective and made of 100% recycled material.  The product is also non toxic, requires very little maintenance and will reduce your amount of weeds.  If you use this product you will also notice less insects in your garden as well.

Rubber mulch is an amazing product.  It is very beneficial to our environment and will definitely save money over time.

2010 Vintage Press Napa Cab $8.99 Trader Joe’s

       Vintage Press Napa Cab

Vintage Press Napa Cab

Hot off the Presses

Whenever our buyers sit down to a meal, they are on the job. And you just never know where the next bite or sip will lead. Take the tale of our Vintage Press Cabernet:

While dining at a favorite pizza enoteca in Northern California, our buyer was casually eyeballing the bottles of wine lining the walls. When asked what he would like to drink with his wood-fired pie, he pointed to a curiously conspicuous label – “that one.” Good eye. A few sips in, he realized how good it really was: moderate tannins, juicy fruit, nice spice… so he reiterated his intent, “I’d like to take that one.” Of course, he meant that he wanted to take it to Trader Joe’s. Well, all right then. The restauranteur recognized the very real potential, and agreed to provide us with this excellent Napa Valley Cabernet, on one condition: we must remove their label to protect the brand. Done. And along with the label, we took off the ritzy restaurant price tag. Now, that’s a good deal! It really is: our Vintage Press 2010 Napa Valley Cabernet is only $8.99* for each 750 ml bottle. Oak-aged for nine months, it boasts aromas of dark fruits and spice, edged with tobacco and cocoa, silky tannins and complex structure. It’s vintage Napa for typical TJ’s value.

Viticulture Veracity: While one of the world’s most famous red wine grapes, Cabernet Sauvignon was created relatively recently (17th century-ish) from a hybrid between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc.

EV Charger Network California DC Fast Charge

A EV charger network is coming to California. Thanks to a settlement with NRG Energy, the company that was responsible for the rolling blackouts in California.

But get this, the settlement is basically giving the money back to the company responsible or more accurately a subsidiary

NRG’s eVgo subsidiary to build a large electric car charging station network. The network will include over 200 DC Fast Charge stations in California’s major metropolitan areas. While deploying electric car fast charge stations has been shown to improve EV adoption,

The agreement calls for a network that will bring:

  • A minimum of 200 direct current (DC) fast chargers to the state.
  • A minimum of 10,000 parking spaces retrofitted with wiring necessary to charge EVs at multifamily buildings, large worksites and civic sites such as universities and hospitals.
  • Training and jobs for the installation and maintenance of these charging stations in California.
  • Advanced charging services that increase the speed and power of DC fast charging, store electricity to minimize peak-period demand, and enable EV drivers to support electrical grid reliability with needed energy services through vehicle to grid technology enhancement and implementation.
  • Significant additional investment in California’s clean technology economy and hundreds of jobs in construction and EV infrastructure manufacturing, maintenance and management.
  • Approximately $100 million in infrastructure investment over four years, and $20 million in cash to go to the California Public Utility Commission.
