Caltech( California Institute of Technology) has filed a lawsuit against Apple and Broadcom over WiFi patents. The WiFi technology is used in many of the Apple products including the iPhone 5
Is Caltech taking the que from University of Wisconson, Madison, having won a $200 million patent infringement case against Apple? Perhaps. Caltech claims the violation of four patents by Apple and Broadcom.
The protocols manage encoding and decoding circuitry to enable faster data transmission in the 802.11n and 802.11ac Wi-Fi standards, that incorporate these IRA/LDPC encoders and/or decoders and thereby infringe upon the four asserted patents in question
Now it is up to Apple and Broadcom to provide proof or perhaps they will settle?
Apple uses Broadcom chips in the Apple Watch, iPhones, and iPads, as well as its line of Macs that support 802.11ac, including the MacBook Air, Retina MacBook Pro, and iMac.
The lawsuit could halt the sale of many Apple products.
The asserted patents include U.S. Patent No. 7,116,710, U.S. Patent No. 7,421,032, U.S. Patent No. 7,916,781, and U.S. Patent No. 8,284,833.

Hello Sriracha Friend:
Beginning on June 1, 2016, the registration page for our 3rd Annual Chili Grinding Open House event will be opened for your reservations at our website: https://www.huyfong.com/toursnow/ .
Our registration page will display all the dates on the four Saturday Open Houses as well as the times slots available. The first Open House will commence on the first Saturday of September after Labor Day.
During this period, we will still be offering our weekday tours but availability will be limited and the chili grinding process would be restricted to viewing. Since we expect reservations to reach full capacity again this year, we highly recommend that you register early. As a reminder, we are registering by vehicle and not per person (although we also need this information). We have a new item that we will be giving away this year, along with the t-shirt and hot sauce. We are confident that this year will be better and HOTTER than ever!
**Please check your emails continuously for updates, changes, or cancellation due to rain or other unforeseeable circumstances.**

Facebook has managed to make using Facebook as a business very difficult. In the past Facebook made it difficult to create an account that you would login to manage a business account, so you would use your personal account to create the business page.
Some videos are available that show that using the new interface is easy, but it makes no sense the way the new system is done.
Why would Facebook remove something that made sense? Probably some back-end issue. There are a lot of confused people trying to figure out what happened, but this is not very intuitive to have to select each post and like it as a different user, as opposed to just selecting to login as a business page.
Hopefully Facebook will see the flaw of this and have some variation of this put back, so businesses can use their pages and create and interact with content.

Notice of Data Breach
You may have heard reports recently about a security issue involving LinkedIn. We would like to make sure you have the facts about what happened, what information was involved, and the steps we are taking to help protect you.
On May 17, 2016, we became aware that data stolen from LinkedIn in 2012 was being made available online. This was not a new security breach or hack. We took immediate steps to invalidate the passwords of all LinkedIn accounts that we believed might be at risk. These were accounts created prior to the 2012 breach that had not reset their passwords since that breach.
What Information Was Involved?
Member email addresses, hashed passwords, and LinkedIn member IDs (an internal identifier LinkedIn assigns to each member profile) from 2012.
What We Are Doing
We invalidated passwords of all LinkedIn accounts created prior to the 2012 breach that had not reset their passwords since that breach. In addition, we are using automated tools to attempt to identify and block any suspicious activity that might occur on LinkedIn accounts. We are also actively engaging with law enforcement authorities.
LinkedIn has taken significant steps to strengthen account security since 2012. For example, we now use salted hashes to store passwords and enable additional account security by offering our members the option to use two-step verification.
What You Can Do
We have several dedicated teams working diligently to ensure that the information members entrust to LinkedIn remains secure. While we do all we can, we always suggest that our members visit our Safety Center to learn about enabling two-step verification, and implementing strong passwords in order to keep their accounts as safe as possible. We recommend that you regularly change your LinkedIn password and if you use the same or similar passwords on other online services, we recommend you set new passwords on those accounts as well.

If you are signing up for Charter voice services, be prepared for a wide variety of issues.
Ranging from not being able to receive calls, to voicemail alerts not working, to receiving duplicate voicemail alerts.
Charter voice is not integrated into the mobile app.
Charter does not work Nomorobo.
Charter only allows users to block 13 numbers! Yes only 13 numbers can be blocked.
“We are sorry your call cannot be completed at this time, please hangup and try your call again later” – this is the current state of my home phone, no service, when someone calls the number this is what they hear.
Also be prepared for the customer reps to tell you about free features you are getting. Perhaps they don’t see you are paying for them, monthly or maybe they have to say they are free now, because they will be charging for them later.
Charter has a history of reinventing itself, from having filed chapter 11 and wiping out stockholders value holdings.
I just signed up with Charter for home internet and phone service and so far the internet seems better than AT&T, but the phone services are inferior to AT&T in terms of features and reliability. Next step may be to cancel the home phone as appears to be the case these days that most people rely on their mobile phones.
Charter will only have me paying for internet service, because they cannot seem to get their act together on the voice services side.
Current Charter Communication CEO:
Charter has had somewhat of a checkered past as stockholders in the previous incarnations they basically got screwed.
Charter CEO Neil Smit leaving for rival Comcast
It seems that AT&T did not oppose the acquisition of Time Warner by Charter because it was under scrutiny itself for the multi billion dollar acquisition of DirecTV. Obviously AT&T did not want to jeopardize this transaction. AT&T is currently working to move U-Verse customers to DirecTV, its landline service will most likely go the way of what Verizon did with its landline services and sell it to Frontier.
Charter has already made it clear that it is going to re-brand Time Warner to Charter. Most like there will be service interruptions issues with integrating, there almost always are.
Charter stock is currently trading at $228.38 up about 1.5% for the day. The current market cap for CHTR is about $60 billion.
