The 44th Pasadena Doo Dah Parade This Sunday
The 44th Pasadena Doo Dah Parade

This Sunday

(Pasadena, CA) November 16, 2023 – The Occasional Pasadena Doo Dah Parade celebrates 44 years of irreverent frolicking in Old Pasadena on Sunday, November 19th, stepping off at 11:00am. Known as the twisted sister of the conventional Rose Parade, the Doo Dah Parade began as a grassroots event in 1978 to gain national attention for its eccentric and, often, irreverent satire.

The Doo Dah Parade, which moved to East Pasadena in 2010, is returning by popular demand to its roots in the historic Old Pasadena retail and entertainment district. This year’s event will be the largest in its history, showcasing over 90 entries of every description; including art cars, zany marchers, mutant vehicles, rockers, performance artists, political pundits, satirists, mad inventor floats, dancing troupes and disruptors of all shapes and sizes!

WHEN: The Parade steps off at 11:00am and runs till 1:00pm.

WHERE: The Parade starts at Raymond Avenue at Holly Street (85 E. Holly St., Pasadena, CA 91103), heads south on Raymond, turns west on Colorado Boulevard, ending at Pasadena Avenue. The parade staging area is in Memorial Park.

COST: As always, the event is free-of-charge to the public!

PARKING: Come early and bring a lawn chair. Plenty of street parking is available on side streets. Multiple public parking lots and garages are available within Old Pasadena. See website.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: The LA Metro’s “A” Line’s Memorial Park station brings you right to the parade formation area. Pasadena Transit bus lines come directly to the area. Consider bicycling or taking an Uber. Just leave your humdrum existence and get there!

OFFICIAL AFTER-PARTY:

Old Towne Pub, enter at 34 E. Holly St., with live music begins right after the parade with Blondonna, Lightning Dan & the Crawdads, and Soul Fuzz Family Band. $5 cover charge.
