How China Got Rich | ENDEVR Documentary

How China Got Rich | Business Documentary from 2019

Over 40 years China has been transformed out of all recognition, the scale of its growth and the sheer speed of change has been astonishing. The country has seen the largest lifting of people out of poverty that has ever taken place in human history, and today China is a global force, predicted to become the world’s biggest economy in a couple of decades. So how did an impoverished and backward communist country become an engine of global capitalism? What actually happened 40 years ago to set China on the road to prosperity? Michael Wood talks to the people who were there; the men and women who had been sent to be ‘re-educated ‘on farms and in factories; the farmers who defied the government and broke with communism; the woman has given the very first private business certificate; and the US technical advisor sent to China by the UN to kickstart the change. He travels across the country to meet China’s highest-ranking female diplomat and the people who worked with Premier Deng Xiaoping. The film mixes these testimonies with a fascinating archive of the Chinese leader meeting President Carter in Washington and on fact-finding missions in Japan and Singapore. Interviews too with Deng’s biographer, Professor Ezra Vogel from Harvard University and Ambassador James Stapleton-Roy who lifts the lid on the intensive work behind the scenes which led to the US recognizing the People’s Republic of China in 1979. The second part of the film looks at the results of those initiatives in today’s China, visiting high-tech global giants Tencent and Alibaba and China’s top universities Tsinghua and SUStech. We visit a high-speed rail workshop and the world’s fastest-growing container port; we interview the American lawyer who set up the first Chinese deals for multinationals including Exon Mobile and Roche Pharmaceuticals. Finally, we ask Robert Daly the Director of the Kissinger Institute on China and Ambassador Roy where they think China is heading, and if political reform will be on the agenda any time soon. China’s decision to open up to the world 40 years ago has been called ‘the most important event of modern world history’, and it is one in which America played a crucial role. Today China is a major player, flexing its muscles on the global stage. In this film, Michael Wood tracks the beginning of their meteoric rise, looks at the extraordinary scale of present-day developments and asks both Chinese and US experts for clues to the future. With extraordinary access to key witnesses, this timely and important film tells the story of How China Got Rich. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Subscribe ENDEVR for free: https://bit.ly/3e9YRRG Join the club and become a Patron: https://www.patreon.com/freedocumentary Facebook: https://bit.ly/2QfRxbG Twitter: https://bit.ly/2QlwRiI ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ #FreeDocumentary #ENDEVR #China ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ENDEVR explains the world we live in through high-class documentaries, special investigations, explainers videos and animations. MONOPOLY – Who owns the world? Video

MONOPOLY – Who owns the world?

A documentary by Tim Gielen 2021. This brilliant documentary by Tim Gielen reveals how a small group of super rich criminals have been buying virtually everything on earth, until they own it all. From media, health care, travel, food industry, governments… That allows them to control the whole world. Because of this they are trying to impose the New World Order. Bill Gates, Klaus Schwab, George Soros, … This incredibly eye opening documentary reveals something astonishing: the majority of our world is owned by the very same people. Because of this they can control the entire world and impose their wicked agenda onto all of humanity. This is the time to expose them and to rise up as one to defend our freedom. The name of the two companies who virtually owns the world’ are Vanguard and BlackRock. They are at the heart of the Deep State or Cabal. Their plan is the Great Reset where they want to enslave every human on earth. Share this video wherever you can! Learn more here: Https://www.stopworldcontrol.com

Tesla News – Phone and Daimler/Mercedes/AMG Acquisition?

With all the rumors and news swirling around Tesla we are now hearing about Tesla releasing a phone, apparently much more advanced than the Apple iPhone or Samsung Galaxy of today.
There are videos of prototypes anticipated on YouTube, whether these are accurate or not is to be seen.

In addition we are also hearing rumors that Tesla is in talks to acquire Daimler/Mercedes. While it was anticipated that Tesla would acquire or at the very least partner with a car company, this is appears to be a good target for Tesla. Daimler with their advanced design and manufacturing and AMG division can bring a lot of benefit to Tesla. Again while yet to be seen this will be welcome news, and could catapult Tesla ahead of the other players in the space.
While there is also speculation that Tesla will form an alliance of sorts with Toyota anything could happen.

Meanwhile Apple is not sitting idle and there are rumors of Apple accelerating development of their vehicle.

LA Auto Show 2021 EV Electric Vehicles

The LA Auto Show taking place from November 22 to December 1 2021 is a good place to see the latest auto announcements.
This year we see numerous EV electric announcements.

Here’s just a few:

1. Tesla – while Tesla did not have an official booth, on the floor in the EV space for awards, included a Model 3, S Y, one can only assume that Tesla is preparing for the tooling of the Cybertruck followed shortly thereafter by the sub $30k EV. A cross between the 3 and Y. There have been rendering of what it may look like. Tesla is way ahead with their battery development and manufacturing. Other EVs have to rely on others for battery components.

2. Imperium EV – this company with a location in Fairfield CA, has a slew of EV vehicles. Expect Imperium to have vehicles available in the first quarter of 2022. Impressive design. The ETS SUC and Terra-E(pickup truck). You can reserve yours today with a $100 deposit. Sandy Monroe is

3. canoo
Canoo
19951 Mariner Ave
Torrance, CA 90503-1672
With manufacturing in Tulsa, Oklahoma, makes another entry for a US auto maker.

4. KIA – 2022 EV6 – impressive up to 300 mile range on the RWD, coming 1st quarter of 2022. GT – Line
2022 Niron EV, starting at $39.990.

5. Hyundai – IONIC 5 – Impressive with a couple of all electric models keeping Hyundai one of the players in the EV space.

6. Subaru – A full EV is slated for release June 2022. A few pre-production models at the show, impressive, range appears on the lower end, but a good entry.

7. INDI EV – based in Vernon, California, about 100 employees. Showroom/offices in Beverly Hills.

8. MULLEN – from La Brea , Orange County, full EV vehicles. Impressive.
Mullen Automotive, 1405 Pioneer St., Brea, CA 92821, United States, +1 714-613-1900
Southern California based company, working to create sustainable & scalable energy solutions. Coming Soon: the revolutionary Mullen FIVE, electric-SUV crossover

9. Fisker – Debut of the Ocean. Southern California Fasker makes a splash at the LA Auto Show. A lot of buzz.

10. VinFast – car company from Vietnam – at the show offering coffee, but they had run out on Friday afternoon. They had two models on display. VF e35 and VF e36

10. Ford Electric Pickup truck, retro F100, looks great. Ford Mustang Mach E. Keeps Ford in the running.

11. GM- Chevy – Bolt not present, an embarrassment to those would would have loved to see GM – Chevy come out with something new and revolutionary.

12. VW- The ID 4, a strong contender, with sales appearing to be strong. The Electrify America charging network which came about after the dieselgate debacle. Leaving VW group with billions in debt.

13. Audi – With the e-Tron it will be interesting to see what Audi backed by the VW Group does next.

14. Nissan – Ariya – which is technically not a replacement for the LEAF, at least that is what Nissan says. Up to 300 mile range. It will have the CCS charging adapter, and supposedly the LEAF will receive some sort of adapter or conversion for Chademo to CCS, it wasn’t clear as the reps for Nissan had two stories. As a initial Nissan LEAF owner and the frustrations in dealing with Nissan and their poor battery design, I would be very leary of a Nissan product, and in particular a Nissan EV product.

Erewhon Market Coming to South Lake Pasadena

Organic Grocery Store Chain Erewhon Coming to Pasadena.

A local investment group aligned with the Los Angeles-based upscale organic grocery store chain Erewhon has closed escrow on the former I. Magnin department store (then Borders Books); a historic retail building at 475 S. Lake Ave.

In February 2021, The New York Times ran a feature article on Erewhon, “How Erewhon Became L.A.’s Hottest Hangout,” detailing the chain’s successful rise the past decade to become a hub not only for health-food enthusiasts but also for celebrities and influencers, thanks to a highly-curated food offering that is a combination of organic, gluten-free, biodynamic, free-range and vegan, all in a beautiful setting and tailored to the local community.

Yuval Chiprut, chief development officer for Erewhon, lead the effort over many months to overcome many obstacles resulting from nearly a decade of vacancy. Chiprut was immediately struck by the classic lines of the original I. Magnin and Bullock’s buildings created over 70 years ago. Chiprut and Tony Antoci, Erewhon’s CEO, envisioned the ground floor refurbished and built out for Erewhon, including a makeover of the outdoor common area, landscaping, rooftop and patios surrounding the building for shoppers to eat and hang out. “Erewhon is honored by the prospect of occupying this iconic building rooted in Pasadena’s rich history. We are grateful for the support the City and community have provided,” Chiprut says. “We look forward to a successful rehabilitation of the building and joining Pasadena and the neighboring communities. I have always loved Pasadena and thrilled we found a viable location,” says Antoci.

The 41,760 square foot historic and iconic building is spread over a basement level and magnificent first and second floors. It was successfully marketed by CBRE beginning in the spring of 2020, following nine years of vacancy. Ultimately, through very targeted outreach, the team identified Erewhon as a great candidate and a 14-month process culminated in the sale of the building in October 2021.

Chiprut has brought in Erewhon’s retail architecture firm, Long Beach’s RDC Inc., to assist in renovating and modernizing the 70-year-old building while maintaining much of its originality. Terry Todd and Elise Kunihiro of RDC stated that the unique building is “an exciting challenge, and we look forward to seeing it reactivated and serving the surrounding community once again.”

The majority of second floor will be occupied by Brella, a new model of app-enabled child care center that offers full-time, flexible, and on-demand infant care and preschool, along with parent education classes and family events. Brella’s flexible model, innovative curriculum and beautifully designed environments are creating a new industry paradigm. Brella launched in Playa Vista in 2019 and, after closing a Series Seed fundraise this year, is expanding to multiple sites across Los Angeles.

Steve Nelson and Tim Genske have each been involved in Pasadena retail real estate for over 30 years and acknowledged this assignment was the ultimate test of their over 60 years of combined experience. “We were determined not to fail on this assignment, in spite of COVID, the long-term vacancy of the building, etc., and to bring a new generation of retail experience to South Lake Avenue that we would both be proud of to the community’s long-term benefit,” Nelson says.

The new ownership is engaged in negotiations with a specialty medical and wellness tenant, for the final portion of the second floor of the building and is also contemplating a built-out wine storage facility for residents in the basement space of the building.

Pasadena – Statement, Press Conference & Community Vigil on shooting of 13 year-old boy

Statement, Press Conference & Community Vigil on shooting of 13 year-old boy

From the Mayor of Pasadena – Victor Gordo

PRESS CONFERENCE TODAY
Mayor Victor M. Gordo, along with City Councilmembers and
Pasadena Deputy Police Chief Cheryl Moody
will hold a press conference at City Hall today at 4PM
to discuss the shooting of 13-year-old Iran Moreno
killed by a stray bullet Saturday evening.
STATEMENT ON SHOOTING OF 13 YEAR-OLD BOY
Dear Neighbors:
This past Saturday evening, our Pasadena community suffered a horrific tragedy—the killing of 13 year-old Iran Moreno. Iran was sitting inside his home with his family, playing video games in his bedroom, when he was killed by a gunman who fired shots outside his home.
There are no words that can fully do justice to truly express our feelings and thoughts for the Moreno family, and for our larger pain as a community for yet another senseless loss. As a father, I cannot fathom the unbearable anguish that Iran’s parents are going through at this moment and the pain that they will live with for the rest of their lives. We as a community must all come together to embrace his family, friends and neighbors. We also recognize the efforts of the first responders who did all they could to save Iran’s life.
Those who committed this heinous act must be brought swiftly to justice, and I am calling upon those responsible to turn themselves in now. I also am pleading with members of our community to share any information they may have—no matter how small—with law enforcement. Our community must not stand for violence and, while seeking justice for their son can never take away the hole in their hearts, we pray it will bring some sense of relief for the Moreno family.
With the death of Iran on Saturday night, and with other acts of violence in recent months in our community, I recognize that there is fear, frustration and anger. There is no one answer to addressing these tragedies – it will take a comprehensive collective effort with every one of us working together. Know that as your Mayor I will work tirelessly with my colleagues to offer support, resources, partnerships and any other services that will help our community. Know, too, that we will leave nothing behind to bring these perpetrators to justice.
We cannot allow those who seek to do harm to our community to overshadow the goodness in our hearts. As your Mayor, I am asking all of us, from East Pasadena to the Rose Bowl; from south of the freeway to the Northwest, to come together as we have during the pandemic, to show unity, compassion and kindness during this difficult time. We are one Pasadena family.
Sincerely,
Mayor Victor M. Gordo
