Dog License Crackdown in Los Angeles

If you live in Los Angeles and own a dog, you should get your dog license as the crackdown is about to begin. Garcitti is heading the action with the use of DWP to mine the database.

Perhaps doing a sweep at dog parks would also work.

Estimates are that 80% of dogs in Los Angeles are NOT Licensed.

Animals should be neutered and or spayed and have their shots.

More details follow.

Jack In The Box – Free Grilled Sandwich with purchase of a drink

My new Grilled Sandwiches are free on Tuesday, 2/23.Hey,

So I’ve recently been into things that are grilled. Not like rappers’ teeth or anything. My new Grilled Sandwiches. There’s the Grilled Turkey, Bacon & Cheddar with roasted turkey, cheddar cheese and bacon, and the Grilled Deli Trio, with salami, sliced ham, roasted turkey, provolone cheese and pickles. Both served on grilled artisan bread.

I can’t decide which one I like better. I’d imagine that’d be like having to choose which of your fraternal twins you like better. Except in that case, one is usually evil.

But back to the sandwiches.

I’ve decided to give them away for FREE on Tuesday, February 23rd with the purchase of a large drink. One sandwich per person though. So choose wisely.

-Jack

About Google I/O

May 19-20, 2010
Moscone West, San Francisco

Google I/O brings together thousands of developers for two days of deep technical content, focused on building the next generation of web, mobile, and enterprise applications with Google and open web technologies such as Android, Google Chrome, Google APIs, Google Web Toolkit, App Engine, and more.

Technical Sessions

I/O will feature over 80 sessions ranging from introductory talks to deep dives on the nuts and bolts of a particular technology or product. Fireside chats will also return this year, where you can ask questions to Google engineers in an informal, intimate setting.

Developer Sandbox

The Developer Sandbox, first introduced at I/O 2009, returns this year to I/O. The Sandbox will feature over 100 developers who have built applications based on technologies and products featured at I/O. These developers will be on hand to demo their apps, talk about how they built them, answer questions, and exchange ideas.

Office Hours

Get one-on-one help from product experts at Office Hours. Products featured in breakout sessions will have a designated ‘office space’ where members of Google Engineering and Developer Relations teams will be available for drop-in Q&A. Come ask questions, share your code snippets, and meet new people.

Community

I/O is a great opportunity to connect with new and familiar faces. We’re excited to have so many bright and talent developers of a wide range of apps, companies, and technologies join us from around the world. You’ll be able to meet other developers, discuss ideas, and share what you’ve been working on.

Picasso Cafe Irwindale

While the fork is popular, it lessens the dining experience by stripping you of your ability to take advantage of the human hand’s sense of taste. Today’s Groupon provides plenty of forkless eating options for breakfast or lunch with $25 worth of wraps, paninis, and signature sandwiches for $10 at Picasso’s Café in Irwindale.

Picasso’s applies its esteemed catering cred toward crafting quality café eats. The cozy café is home to inspired breakfast and lunch choices. Starbucks brews, espresso drinks, and a wide variety of day encouragers, such as crumby muffins (starting at $1.95), assorted scones ($1.75 for petite, $2.75 for large), and a hot ham and cheese croissant sandwich ($9.25), get the morning off to a satisfying start, just like the flare gun you fire underneath your pillow every morning.

For lunch, Picasso serves a variety of sandwiches, wraps, and paninis, all of which have mastered the stuff-inside-stuff food formula. Bread-covered bites include a meatball and mozzarella sandwich ($7.95 for regular size) and the secretary sandwich, which lands you a choice of albacore tuna or chicken salad on a croissant with cottage cheese or fresh fruit ($9.25). Salads include seared ahi tuna bedded atop shredded cabbage and saturated with a house sweet-soy wasabi dressing and crispy rice noodles ($14.50). The café also features a modest selection of vegetarian grub including a garden-happy sandwich and grilled cheese middled with roasted peppers and tomato slivers ($9.50).

Easily transportable, sandwiches and salads are the ideal lunchtime meal or surprise elevator-companion present. You get a variety of food groups in every bite without using a blender and drinking them. Redeem your Groupon anytime weekdays for lunch or breakfast from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
