Android v iPhone

Android v iPhone

I have had it with t-mobile and Google.
As a consumer, Google and T-Mobile messed up with Android handsets. The HTC is a joke. The battery life is horrible barely able to last a few hours with 3G on and some medium usage. Upgrading the G1 Unlocked is a complicated task. Upgraded the radio and drop calls and fail calls like crazy on the tmobile network.

I was going to wait for the Magic – G2, but can’t take it. Moving my wife over to the iPhone AT&T and I’ll follow. AT&T is expensive and exploiting the iPhone market, AT&T customer service is one of the worse in the business. t-mobile customer service is pretty good.

Apple will play this out, expect an unlocked phone in the next year that will work on several networks.

I have no doubt that Google will make a big push and become #2 in the handset.
Predict in a year.

Charter Communications Please Stop Mailings!

If you are like me you are getting really tired of asking Charter Communications to stop send solicitations to sign-up for their service. I would not sign-up for Charter services even if they gave it away for free and would rather not have TV service. Charter is one of the worse when it comes to customer service and quality of service.

Today after requesting multiple times that I be removed from their mailing list I received not one but two offers in the mail.

Charter, what part of take me off your list do you not understand?

As a shareholder this is a complete waste of money to send mail which eve at bulk rate pre sorted adds up. I would say from the ones I have received it would add up to at lest $20-30 in postage. Not to mention it is irresponsible of Charter to continue to send mail to an address after multiple requests have been made to be removed from the list.

Pasadena Shopping & Dining Discounts

Are you shopping in Pasadena on a budget or looking for some ways to save?

Parking – there are several city lots that offer 90 minutes of free parking some with validation and others the first 90 minutes are free.

Dining – look for restaurants that offer discounts. There are several sites including these:
https://dingpow.com/where/pasadena, -ca
https://couponclipper.com/Search/Where/91104/What/restaurant
https://www.hotcoupons.com/cgi-shl/cook/locality?pfst=Y&st=CA&ci=pasadena&x=17&y=14
https://www.valpak.com/coupons/query?keywords=&geo=pasadena%2C+ca&x=11&y=7
https://www.pennysaverusa.com/search/simple/query-pasadena/region-w-us-ca/radius-0/
https://www.sangabrielvalleymenus.com/cities/pasadenamenus.htm

If you live in the Pasadena area or plan to visit Pasadena on a regular basis, be sure to check out the NOTT Card, Nite on the Town card can save you money with 2 for 1 specials and discounts on your dining. For $20 or so you get a card that is punched by the restaurant.
Give David a call at 626-792-5869 or email him at Nottcard@aol.com and get your Nite On The Town card.

Shopping – the above sites also offer some discounts.
Visit the official sites or do a google search for business you plan to visit for current specials. While on their site sign-up for their email list as you may in many cases receive a discount for your first purchase.

As always sometimes it pays to just ask the store you are shopping at or even the dining location for specials and coupons.

Iran and North Korea

We have our hands full trying to keep an eye on Iran and North Korea.

North Korea is trigger happy testing missles and threatening neighboring countries. The latest is that North Korea is launching a missle test into the Pacific Ocean, with reports that the missles can reach Hawaii.  In light of this the US is taking measures to protect Hawaii in the event of a near hit with a defense and detection system.

Iran is suffering from turmoil from recent elections and the government is acting to supress protests.

More on these two hot spots.

Cherry Picking Weekend

Hi Cherry Pickers,

Wow!  There are now ripe Bings and Rainiers everywhere in the orchard!  Many, many trees are still loaded with lush fruit so I would suggest coming now to get great cherries.  We still hope to be open through July 5th but it will depend on how hot it gets in the mean time.  We’ll definitely send you a Cherry Alert to keep you posted so you won’t make a wasted trip.

It is expected to be pretty warm this weekend so we suggest you put on some sunscreen and wear a hat.  Although we sell water at the stand we have no problem with you bringing drinks into the orchard.  We will be open every day of the week.  On weekends we are open 8am to 5pm. and week days from 8am to 6pm.

Also, we don’t mind if you taste a few Cherries while you are picking so you can decide which ones you like but we’ve worked all year to grow these Cherries so that we can sell you wonderful, natural Cherries right off the tree.

Visit our web site www.upickcherries.com to see our new photos and the newest recipes we just posted today!  Our Cherry Hotline is 661 270-1356.

This will be a great weekend for picking so see we’ll you at the farm!
