THE PASADENA TABLE: A Tour of Italy
Centennial Square in front of Pasadena City Hall
Saturday, May 23, 2009 11 AM to 10 PM

THE PASADENA TABLE: A Tour of Italy is the first of what we hope to be a series of festival type events,  free to the public, family friendly, and jammed with cool stuff.  Our vision is that that THE PASADENA TABLE will serve as a pilot program for many future events, with A Tour of Italy as our first in what we hope to be many cultural touchstones.  The possibilities for spotlighting other aspects of Pasadena’s community, cultures and businesses under this umbrella are limitless.

THE PASADENA TABLE:  A Tour of Italy is a cross between Piazza San Marco (without having to travel to Italy), Universal City Walk (without paying a fortune for parking) and the weekly Farmers’ Markets that have become an intragal part of our lives.

THE PASADENA TABLE has elements to stimulate all age groups and all the senses:

–     THE BIG TABLE – A centuries-old Italian tradition – as evening falls, we will sit down as a community at tables 300 feet long, and savor the best Italian food Pasadena has to offer.

–     CARNIVALE – A variety of fascinating elements that will resonate with the Italian-themed surroundings, roving Commedia dell’arte improv artists and other surprises, with an emphasis on FUN.

–     BISTRO GARDEN – A European drinking tradition.

–     ARTISANS’  WALK – Local artists, jewelry makers, craftspeople – but not the ones you always see.

–     LIVE MUSIC – Groups and individuals handpicked for quality and diversity.
