Nissan LEAF 2016 Boasts 107 Mile Range, Fact or Fiction?

Nissan has a track record of not being forthwith with their advertising as two class actions lawsuits have shown. Just the fact that they have settled and modified their warranty is reason for suspicion. It seems Nissan gambles with misrepresenting and what the cost is to the corporation, at the expense of consumers at the potential benefit to fool buyers into falling for misrepresentation.

Nissan again seems to be raising the bar at least in the media, to 107 miles, some have speculated that the new “improved” battery has extended range.

Any EV automaker needs to be careful about how it presents to buyers what the actual range will be and how it warranties their batteries. Nissan has not been a good example of this as two class action lawsuits have shown.

Two executives from Nissan are in the media recently with claims on the 2016 Nissan LEAF.

Nissan is offering the 30kWh battery on the two top of the line 2016 SL and SV models. The price will also go up.

The S model will continue to have the 24kWh battery and 84 mile range per charge.

The top of the line SL will now be priced at almost $37,000.
