Charter Communications Voice Services Review 2016 @charter @chartercom

If you are signing up for Charter voice services, be prepared for a wide variety of issues.

Ranging from not being able to receive calls, to voicemail alerts not working, to receiving duplicate voicemail alerts.

Charter voice is not integrated into the mobile app.

Charter does not work Nomorobo.

Charter only allows users to block 13 numbers! Yes only 13 numbers can be blocked.

“We are sorry your call cannot be completed at this time, please hangup and try your call again later” – this is the current state of my home phone, no service, when someone calls the number this is what they hear.

Also be prepared for the customer reps to tell you about free features you are getting. Perhaps they don’t see you are paying for them, monthly or maybe they have to say they are free now, because they will be charging for them later.

Charter has a history of reinventing itself, from having filed chapter 11 and wiping out stockholders value holdings.

I just signed up with Charter for home internet and phone service and so far the internet seems better than AT&T, but the phone services are inferior to AT&T in terms of features and reliability. Next step may be to cancel the home phone as appears to be the case these days that most people rely on their mobile phones.

Charter will only have me paying for internet service, because they cannot seem to get their act together on the voice services side.

Current Charter Communication CEO:

Charter has had somewhat of a checkered past as stockholders in the previous incarnations they basically got screwed.

It seems that AT&T did not oppose the acquisition of Time Warner by Charter because it was under scrutiny itself for the multi billion dollar acquisition of DirecTV.  Obviously AT&T did not want to jeopardize this transaction.  AT&T is currently working to move U-Verse customers to DirecTV, its landline service will most likely go the way of what Verizon did with its landline services and sell it to Frontier.

Charter has already made it clear that it is going to re-brand Time Warner to Charter. Most like there will be service interruptions issues with integrating, there almost always are.

Charter stock is currently trading at $228.38 up about 1.5% for the day.  The current market cap for CHTR is about $60 billion.
