Warren Buffett Selects Successor?

Was Warren Buffett’s replacement selected at the annual shareholders meeting taking place today?
Perhaps, but don’t expect the successor to be named, or will they?

Berkshire Hathaway identified the chief executive who will succeed Warren Buffett when the 81-year-old investor steps down, but don’t expect that to take place anytime soon, as Mr. Buffett purports to be in great physical shape.

It could be multiple successors, according to this in the Financial Times:
High quality global journalism requires investment.

Successors on the investing side of the business are now clear. Ted Weschler and Todd Combs will be managing a few billion dollars each this year, Mr Buffett said, adding that “they have the brains, judgment and character to manage our entire portfolio when Charlie [Munger] and I are no longer running Berkshire.”

Shares in Berkshire are up 3 per cent year to date, at $120,000 per A share.

Apparently Berkshire is on the prowl for deals.
