Sprint Nextel Corp in talks with T-Mobile USA Parent Deutsche Telekom AG

We are reading that Deutsche Telekom AG has been in talks to sell its T-Mobile USA unit to Sprint Nextel Corp.  in exchange for a major stake in the combined company, Bloomberg reported Tuesday, citing people with knowledge of the matter. Sources cautioned that the talks have been on and off, and a deal may not be reached because the companies haven’t been able to agree on a valuation for T-Mobile USA.

So what would the new company be called? Does this make sense? I would think this could be a good move, as competition heats up between Verizon and AT&T. There’s room for another player to really shake things up.

Sprint Mobile

T Sprint

or what else would the company be called?

As you may know, Sprint operates services for Virgin Mobile, Boost, and other smaller companies that brand themselves.

Not sure about MetroPCS, but I believe they run on another networks.
