Smart eco friendly packaging design

You can never find packaging that perfectly fits your gift and you’re left having to buy an extra large box with a lot of protective filler to fill in the gaps. Well this may be a thing of the past, designer Patrick Sung has come up with an ingenious idea, which I can’t believe no one has ever thought of before. He has taken the cardboard material used for packing boxes and added interlinking perforated triangles to its surface. If you have an oddly shaped object, like a lamp, the cardboard can be shaped to fit its size perfectly; not only does it save you money and lessen the waste of materials used, more packages can be shipped per cargo container saving the environment from those diesel glugging transport trucks.

It is not certain how easily the public would take to this new idea, as some may be put off by the amount of time it takes to wrap and stick together one of these new cardboard packaging systems.
