Wine Down with a Private Barrel Tasting at Hahn Estates

Soledad,  CA–Wine down at Hahn Estates with a special pouring of current releases hosted by Winemaker Paul Clifton and and Director of Vineyard Operations Andy Mitchell on Friday April 16th at 1:00 and 2:00 p.m..  Set amid ancient oaks and overlooking vast farmlands in the Santa Lucia Highlands, the private tasting is part of the 4th Annual Earth Day Food & Wine Festival, a weekend celebration of the culinary and wine creations of California’s Central Coast.

A native of Monterey County, Winemaker Paul Clifton is passionate about the landscape — its valley, mountains, and coastline. On this private winery and barrel tasting tour, Paul will share his decision-making practices for harvesting and fermentation.  Once the site of cattle and horse ranches, the Santa Lucia Highlands provides ideal growing conditions for premium varietal fruit. Andy Mitchell, Director of Vineyard Operations, will discuss how soil and weather conditions give each wine its unique personality, from Bordeaux to Burgundy and Rhone grapes.

Tickets are $15 per person and limited to 10 people per session.  To purchase tickets, find activity opportunities and to view the schedule for the 4th Annual Earth Day Food & Wine Festival, visit the website at www.earthdayfoodandwine.com or call 805.369.2288.
