Iran Army Downs Stealth Drone Over Iran

Lockheed-Martin RQ-170 Sentinel stealth drone

“Iran’s army has downed an intruding RQ-170 American drone in eastern Iran,” Iran’s Arabic-language al-Alam state television network quoted an unnamed source as saying. “The spy drone, which has been downed with little damage, was seized by the armed forces.” According to reports from Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency.

How Iran retaliates is yet to be seen, but tensions between London and Iran have been at all time highs, bringing relations between Europe and Iran to all time lows.
Now that that the US has apparently entered the picture by showing these signs.

It remains to see what we will see happen in the next week, but chances are that oil prices will rise significantly and that Iran will make moves to show some retaliation against the US.
No pictures of the downed drone have surfaced, which would be evidence to the world of this report, that is yet to be seen.

Apparently, Iran’s cyber warfare unit managed to take over controls of the drone and bring it down.
Recently Iran has invested millions in “asymmetric” warfare, alternative techniques to take on enemies who have greater military power, like the United States.
We should expect to see more acts like this, especially as the US enters Iran’s territory and shows signs of what could be interpreted as aggression.
