Pasadena Rental Registry Press Release – Public Access – Check for yourself

The Pasadena Rent Stabilization Dept

This time a press release was issued with information that is not accurate.

Here’s the press release

City of Pasadena Launches New Public Feature on Rental Registry Portal

PASADENA, Calif  The City of Pasadena is making rental housing information more
accessible with the addition of a new feature to the Rental Registry
 online portal. This update
supports the City’s commitment to transparency and accountability, while giving tenants,
landlords, and the public improved access to critical housing data as outlined in Pasadena’s
Charter Article XVIII, Section 1812.

The Rental Registry and online portal were created to collect required information from
landlords and to share important rental housing data with the public. With the new feature now
live, community members can access the following information for all rent stabilized units in
Pasadena:

  • The maximum lawful rent for each rental unit.
  • The actual rent charged each month that the unit was occupied.
  • The beginning and end dates of all tenancies initiated or terminated within the past year.
  • The number of bedrooms and approximate square footage of each rental unit.

Data collected through the Rental Registry helps the City better understand the local rental
housing landscape, from both the tenant and landlord perspectives, and informs future policy
decisions, program development, and community engagement efforts aimed at maintaining fair
and stable housing in Pasadena.

The portal is open to the public and available through the City of Pasadena’s Rent Registry
website at
 CityOfPasadena.net/RentStabilization/RentalRegistry/.

For more information, please contact the Rent Stabilization Department at (626) 7447999 or
