There’s a surge of controversy over the pending victory parade of the Los Angeles Lakers over the Orlando Magic.
If the Lakers win Sunday’s game 5 then the parade could be held Tuesday. Travel of the parade is usually from Staples Center to USC Collesium area.
At a price tag of about 1 million. The parade threatens to disrupt traffic and other businesses as fans and revelers alike take to the streets.
Perhaps there should be a ceremony held at Staples Center inside the venue and charge a small fee of $5 + parking that would contain the celebration.
The threat of the celebration spilling to the streets is always there and some will always look for a reason to party, etc..
With the state of the economy is this the right thing to do?

A Kansas farm wife called the local phone company to report her telephone failed to ring when her friends called – and that on the few occasions when it did ring, her dog always moaned right before the phone rang.
(The telephone repairman proceeded to the scene, curious to see this psychic dog or senile lady. He climbed a telephone pole, hooked in his test set, and dialed the subscriber’s house. The phone didn’t ring right away, but then the dog moaned and the telephone began to ring. Climbing down from the pole, the telephone repairman found):
1. The dog was tied to the telephone system’s ground wire with a steel chain and collar.
2. The wire connection to the ground rod was loose.
3. The dog was receiving 90 volts of signaling current when the number was called.
4. After a couple of jolts, the dog would start moaning and then urinate.
5. The wet ground would complete the circuit, thus causing the phone to ring.
Which demonstrates that some problems CAN be fixed by pissing and moaning.

This morning the Sherrif dept is having a boat auction. Boats, sailboats , Kayaks, etc will be auctioned off. Boats for as little as $100.
I imagine a Kayak would be less.
Vessels to be auctioned include 8- and 12-foot kayaks, an 8-foot Sabot, a 29-foot sailboat, a 13-foot Boston Whaler runabout, a 9-foot PWC, a 6-foot blue pedal boat, 8- and 20-foot inflatable boats and a 12-foot skiff.
Cash only will be accepted for purchases. The Harbor Department must retain the CF-registered vessel following the auction for a 10-day redemption period before the vessels are released.
Viewing of the boats is available from 8 to 9 a.m. June 12.
The auction will be held at the Orange County Sheriff’s Harbor Patrol office at 1901 Bayside Drive, Corona del Mar.
