‘Market in the Park’ Debuts in Old Town Monrovia this Sunday
MONROVIA, Calif., April 6 — The city of Monrovia issued the following news release:
A new farmers’ market debuts in Monrovia Sunday, April 11, with the inauguration of “Market in the Park” on West Lime Avenue in Old Town.
The market will be adjacent to Library Park in the heart of Monrovia’s shopping, dining and entertainment district. It is scheduled to run every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m..
The new farmer’s market will not replace Monrovia’s popul
There’s a new Farmer’s Market held on Sundays in Monrovia.
It is nothing like the one held on Friday evening.
It is much smaller and focused on produce.

‘Market in the Park’ Debuts in Old Town Monrovia This Sunday
A new farmers’ market debuts in Monrovia Sunday, April 11, with the inauguration of “Market in the Park” on West Lime Avenue in Old Town.
The market will be adjacent to Library Park in the heart of Monrovia’s shopping, dining and entertainment district. It is scheduled to run every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m..
The new farmer’s market will not replace Monrovia’s popular Friday night Family Festival, now in its 18th year, which also features a certified farmers’ market in addition to food stalls, kiddie rides, merchandize booths and live entertainment. The Family Festival continues each Friday night from 5-9 p.m. along four blocks of Myrtle Avenue.
The smaller “Market in the Park” offers a different atmosphere on a different day at a different time. It will concentrate on farm-fresh produce, cut flowers, baked goods and fine food products without the accompanying commercial business and entertainment.
Like the Family Festival, it is sponsored by the businesses of Old Town.

Thanks to all for the comments. The Sunday Monrovia market is in fact one of the better markets out there, if you don't like a super big market. The quality of the produce is very good.
If you live in Pasadena, look out for a new Summer market starting in June on South Lake. This will be a popular market.
This is a great little farmers market, with some of the best organic fruit and produce you will find. Sampling is great too! The old town area is so beautiful.
Very small, which makes it an easy Sunday stroll. Was able to pick up everything planned with the exception of a loaf of bread. Plus, sampling gave us a well-rounded, tasty breakfast.
I personally like farmers market a lot because it is so traditional. We really should keep more traditions. At a farmers market people are coming together and are communicating(they are not only sitting in front of a computer and communicating via facebook.
