Google Detects detected suspicious activity on my Google Account

This morning I go to login to my Gmail / Google and get this.
We’ve detected suspicious activity on your Google Account. Please create a new password to continue using your account.

Read some tips on creating a secure password.

Good job for Google trying to catch suspicious activity!  It would be good to know what it detected.  But that could be like asking how the Google search algorithm works.
