Arnel’s Originals Good & Gluten Free Bread and More

If you are looking for a gluten free product you need to take a look at Arnel’s products at www.arnelsoriginals.com. I had a chance to spend a few minutes with Arnel at the Ojai Farmers Market, which takes place every Sunday from 9am to 1pm.

Arnel is only at the Ojai Farmer’s Market where she sells fresh bread and cookies, as well as three dry mixes (bread, pancake, pie crust.) At all other venues (17 Health Food Stores,) only dry mixes.
Baking bread once a week.
She will be at the Ojai Market this Sunday, Sept 19, and the next, Sept 26 but not the following week Oct 3.

My Gluten Free Bread Story
“Necessity is the mother of invention” and back in 2001, I was certainly a mother with a need. It’s been a long arduous journey and I’d like to tell you my story.
In 1996, my husband and I had two allergic daughters, ages 6 and 4, who were often covered in eczema and usually sneezing, rubbing their noses, and irritable. On an average, they woke up 6 times at night, crying, scratching, and restless. Needless to say, we had kids who fluctuated between blank stares and tantrums. Something was seriously wrong and I was on a quest to find out what it was.

At the advice of a friend, I put them on a food elimination diet to see if that might be the culprit and after four days, viola; we had calm focused kids. It was a miracle.  Each day I added back one food at a time and on the day that I reintroduced wheat, the irritating behaviors were back. The girls were allergic to other foods as well but it was wheat, (barley, and rye products) along with food dyes that irritated their system most. WOW, what an eye opener. On a whim, I went on a gluten free diet myself and was equally surprised with the positive effects. My irritability and anxiety disappeared;  my husband looked a lot better (if the light was just right); my painful arthritis vanished, and we all began to have a good night’s sleep. Needless to say, we’ve been eating gluten free ever since.

I got used to cooking gluten free meals but the one item I craved was good gluten free bread.

The products out there were a sad excuse for bread, usually hard, dense, dry, and crumbly. Some companies got the taste right, but no one had a wholesome loaf with a good texture. And so I baked. Each week I my family gave me helpful suggestions and the next week, I started afresh. FINALLY, after eight years of experiments, I am happy with the results. I make Arnel’s Originals Good and Gluten Free Bread with organic whole grains, (buckwheat, tapioca, brown rice, flax meal) sweeten it with a touch of cane sugar, and use only expeller pressed oil. What makes the bread different than anything out there, however, is its texture.

It’s is soft, flexible, tasty, and wholesome, perfect for sandwiches and french toast. Now you can bake it at home with my convenient and easy to bake bread mix. The excitement I get from those who try the bread has made it all worth it.

Now you too can eat delicious Arnel’s Original Good & Gluten Free Bread. ENJOY!
