Forums about food issues typically focus on access, origin, health. What’s often missing from those talks is conversation about excess: not in body weight, or in the types of food abundantly available in some areas and sorely lacking in others, but in what’s thrown out or wasted in the day-to-day.

On Monday, May 20, be part of an audience-inclusive, moderated discussion at The Crawford Family Forum that’ll explore how industry, community, policy, and individual efforts to both share and reduce the “extra” might move Los Angeles toward a more food-secure future.

Guests:
–  Robert Egger – DC Central Kitchen and forthcoming L.A. Kitchen founder
–  Michael Flood – LA Regional Food Bank CEO
–  Dr. Jonathan Fielding, Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, Director and Health Officer
–  Bonnie Lee and Jean-Francois Chenier, 222 Million Tons blog and app creators

Moderator:
–  Desiree Gutierrez
