If you are involved in the affiliate marketing world, you have probably had this happen to you at least once…
You signup for a program, work on the campaign with setup, etc.. launch it, at this point it is costing you money and you are not making any money.
Then the advertiser, merchant decides to pull the offer, terminate you as a publisher, or maybe even close the program.
At this point you are either in shock, very upset, or trying to figure out what to do next…
Here’s some options:
1. Try to contact the advertiser and see if they will give you explanation as to why they decided to terminate you, sometimes the respond other times they don’t.
2. Find a competing advertiser and drive traffic to them. This is why I always like to find a product/service that at least two providers with affiliate programs exists. i.e. online backup software, virus protection software, etc.. you get the idea. Usually you get a week or so to update your links and update your site.
3. As an affiliate you have some ways you can work with advertisers and managers to influence and making sure that you stay in the program.
In many cases advertisers will keep publishers in a program even if they are not driving sales, nut because they have content and are making an effort, and you never know when a link will start to rank higher.
As always keep the creativity flowing with affiliate marketing.
I just received this in my email and wanted to share
An Important Message from Cameron.
We are thrilled to have the chance to ship our wines directly to you at your home or office. In fact, we have a great sale coming up for you in just a few hours- stay tuned! Unfortunately, our ability to ship wine to you may be in danger. That’s why I would like you to take a moment to learn about an important issue for wineries and wine consumers – HR5034.
Many of you probably haven’t heard of House Bill HR 5034. The net net is that HR5034 will enable state governments to go back to the same protectionist behavior, recently overturned by the Supreme Court, by invalidating the Commerce Clause of the Constitution with respect to beer and wine. What does this mean to you? It means that individual states could take action to further restrict the shipping of wine directly to wine consumers. That reduces choice for the consumer and competition among wineries, wholesalers and retailers, and that means higher prices. Please take a minute to learn more about this issue and if you feel strongly, as we do, that HR5034 is anti-consumer, click here to send a letter to your Senators and Representative (it only takes a minute)
Do it today as the hearing on this bill is tomorrow, Wednesday, September 29th!
It was just a matter of time, we are learning that Mike has sold TechCrunch to AOL!
TechCrunch is one of the top influential blogs in Silicon Valley, and some would say beyond, and worldwide.
AOL already includes Engadget, Switched, TUAW and Download Squad.
The announcement was made at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco where AOL CEO Time Armstrong and TechCrunch Founder and Co-Editor Michael Arrington where present and took the stage and made the announcement.
Congrats to Mr. Arrington.
So why is AOL buying TechCrunch?
How much did AOL pay for TechCrunch? Rumors are $40 million!!! Wow.
Will Michael Arrington stay on? I would imagine yes, but needs to be confirmed. udpated: Michael Arrington is reportedly staying on for 3 years.

Join Pacific Asia Museum as we celebrate our
Festival of the Autumn Moon: A Night at the Taj.
The Taj Mahal was built between 1632 and 1653 by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The empress died in 1631, and construction on the mausoleum and its surrounding structures began a year later. In 1983, the Taj Mahal became a UNESCO World Heritage site, and is considered one of the modern wonders. In addition to being one of the world’s great architectural sites, some consider the Taj Mahal to be the most recognizable symbol of love.
The bejeweled mausoleum contains many elements of art and culture within its walls. Poetry, sculpture, abstract design, among other disciplines, are embodied within it numerous walls. From the intricate wall carvings to the lush gardens, the Taj Mahal stands as a universal symbol of human artistic expression.
Pacific Asia Museum will be holding its 33rd Festival of the Autumn Moon on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at the California Club in downtown Los Angeles to celebrate the Taj Mahal and the richness of the South Asian cultural landscape. A Night at the Taj will feature a silent auction “bazaar” of art, home décor, and exotic travel. The evening’s entertainment will include cultural dance and musical performances. There will be signature Live Auction items as well as a raffle drawing for a Mini Cooper. This year’s Festival promises to be an enchanting evening of auction, fine dining and entertainment. Proceeds from the Festival of the Autumn Moon benefit the museum’s many educational programs and innovative exhibitions.
