Violence at LA Dodger Game – Opening Day

So what do you make of the violence on opening day at Dodger Stadium? We know there is a rivalry between the SF Giants and LA Dodgers, but some people thing that it doesn’t stop with the kidding around… and have to get violent.

This is not the first instance of violence at Dodger Stadium in particular as related to fans and SF Giants.  It seems most of the violence is perpetuated by gang members. How security at Dodger Stadium is not keeping a closer eye is incomprehensible . These events are supposed to be family friendly and safe. After having gone to a few games last season, I have little to no desire to go to a game. I’ll just watch on TV or get the highlights after the game.

Security needs to be beefed up and a zero tolerance for any sort of misconduct, and maybe maybe don’t serve beer? or regulate it a little better?

Until this changes, people are going to be afraid to attend games.

Update 4-7-2011: Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck promises fans and the people of Los Angeles are going to see big changes at Dodger Stadium, well, unless Dodger Stadium is going to become a police state and every gang banger is prevented from entering the stadium parking lot, it will have to be 1 officer for each 100-200 fans… Plan on ticket prices to go up again, are the Dodgers worth experiencing the type of behavior that we see at games? NO, I have long been disgusted at what has happened at Dodger Stadium in the last 10 years, it is not the place it used to be.
Former LA Police Chief Barton a friend of the part owner of the Dodgers, Frank McCourt(his wife owns the other part…), has been hired by the Dodgers to head up a security task force. So what will the game be like? Next home game is April 14, 2011.
