Unlocked Apple iPhone 4 Coming This Week?

Major props to Apple for what appears to be a rumor that is likely to become reality.

It could be announced as soon as this week.

With Apple iPhone now available on AT&T and Verizon, could Sprint and T-Mobile be close behind? With an unlocked model we could see it happen soon, as the unlocked phone would make way to all the carriers as the Qualcomm chipset can apparently operate on all the network frequencies.

Would you buy an unlocked iPhone you can take to any carrier of your selection?
I would if the price was in the $300-400 range. Changes are the iPhone 4 unlocked will run in the $450-$500 range. But that has to be seen.
Most carriers will most likely require a contract to run on their network, or maybe not. Maybe month-month will be offered.

I have been very disappointed in the empty promises form AT&T on improving their network, it has not improved in the areas I travel.
