Hahamongna Winter Extravaganza Saturday 1/27 10am-4pm!

Hello to all our friends and supporters!
These recent rains sure make the case that the wet season is upon us. While there might not be much snow in Southern California, there’s no less reason to celebrate winter at our Hahamongna Winter Extravaganza! Our special guests and our in-house team will deliver their expertise, philosophy, and joy of wildlife habitat, pollinator fuel, and native plants—all for free! If you’re a newcomer to gardening or a seasoned naturalist extraordinaire, we invite you to come have some fun with us. All ages and backgrounds are welcome!

10am – 11am Talk: Why Native? Why Local? Why Now? Bill Entz (Hahamongna Nursery) makes the case!11am – 12pm Class: Plant propagation from cuttings with Bill Entz (Hahamongna Nursery)

10am – 12pm & 2pm – 3pm Worshop: Water’s Story in Calligraphy with Keiko Miller (Hahamongna Nursery)

11am – 1pm Workshop: Native plant wreaths with Christina Hummel-Colla (Studio City LA Public Library)

12pm – 1pm Class: Garden maintenance with Niki Weber (Sun Monsters)

1:30pm – 2pm Class: Seed sowing with Antonio Sanchez (SAMO Fund)

2pm – 2:30pm Talk: Wildlife Habitat with Nicole Calhoun (Artemisia Nursery)

2:30pm – 3pm Film: Saging the World, a documentary about what white sage means to native people and the effect its popularity has had on the plant and the people

3pm Music: Sage Against the Machine, a cumbia-blues-rock-punk musical tea steeped in native plants
