About The Tour
The Pasadena Center Operating Company is proud to host, for a second year, Stage 7 of the Amgen Tour of California. The AMGEN Tour of California will bring the drama and excitement of a professional bicycle stage race to Pasadena. The world’s top professional teams will compete over an eight-day, 650-mile race on a route that includes the California redwoods, wine country and the Pacific Coast.
This unique, nine-day “rolling festival” through California has become the most successful race in the US. With more than 4 million spectators over the past three years, the 2008 race drew 1.6 million spectators, setting records for a single sporting event in California and for any cycling event ever held on U.S. soil. This Tour de France-style road race features elite pro cycling teams from around the world competing for the highest prize purse of any cycling race in North America.

The Kids Fitness Zone will be the perfect gymnasium for all children to explore their talents. Children will have the opportunity to participate in many fun and exciting activities including a bounce house and rock climbing wall.

Just received this notice from CJ/Commission Junction regarding the tax reporting for 2008. Apparently CJ did not include December 2008 in their 1099 form sent to publishers. Not sure how many publishers are affected, but I imagine it must be all publishers.
Dear Valued Publisher,
We just discovered that your IRS Form 1099 for 2008 did not include amounts for the month of December. Consequently, your corrected Form 1099 which includes all 2008 payments made for services rendered by you will be sent to you in the mail no later than February 24th.

DESCRIPTION
Digital competence and digital skills are key differentiators. This course is designed to help students become more competitive and make them more productive in the digital economy of the 21st century. The practical guidelines, ideas and techniques are immediately applicable on both a personal and business level. Students will learn how digitally-savvy executives are using their computers and they will gain an understanding of best practices digital tools and techniques.
Today, everyone with a computer and a connection to the Internet can create text, graphics, audio and video content and instantly distribute it to a worldwide audience. Through a series of hands-on exercises combined with lectures and demonstrations, students will learn how consumers are empowered by digital technology, how they are using the medium and how this technological transition is changing the doing of business in the 21st century. Special attention will be paid to using digital skills to identify and take advantage of new business opportunities.
ORGANIZATION
This is a lecture-lab course in which topics are presented by the instructor, techniques are explained, and assigned technical exercises are completed by students in class.

Police Kill Man Who Allegedly Shot At Officers
As reported by the Associated Press
Pasadena – Pasadena police have shot and killed a man who allegedly shot at them during a traffic stop.
Police spokeswoman Janet Pope Givens says officers were conducting a traffic stop until the driver got out of his car and fired at least one shot at them Thursday afternoon.
Givens says the officers fired back and killed the man. Several bystanders ran from the scene.
A woman who was in the car but not involved in the shooting has been detained and taken to station for questioning. The man’s name has not been released.
