Virgin Mobile – Broadband2Go

Available at Best Buy, Broadband2Go is a new service recently announced that cost from $10-$60 per month for broadband internet with a USB Broadband modem from Novatel.

This package is sold exclusively at Best Buy.

From 100mb to 1 gig that last 10 30 days. 100mb will last you about five hours of internet according to Virgin.

These prepaid plans come with no contracts and are surely a way to attract those of us watching our money more closely.

The pitch is that not everyone has the money for a smartphone, and the according data plan which still are very expensive, approx $100 on average for a smartphone data plan.

This is most likely the reason we are seeing an increase in home land lines being dropped, because people need mobile phones and then look at the price of the landline and decide to give it up in order to keep the mobile phone.

This is a good move on the part of Virgin. Contracts are going to disappear in many regards as customers demand it and demand increased flexibility.

Would Apple announcing an iPhone that would run on multiple carriers be in order? Perhaps.
