If you are like me you take a lot of pictures and there’s really no easy way to transfer pictures from your iPhone to your computer and to top it off, there are reports that the iPhone is not properly recognized by the Windows 7 computer. So you can try a few things to get it to show up.
You know that basically the iPhone has a drive that stores data including pictures.

Some have reported launching the Camera App on the iPhone in order for Windows to recognize the device as a camera.
Try this:
– Connect your iPhone with computer using data cable.
– Open Device Manager and find your device, which will be under Portable Devices as Apple iPhone.
– You may be able to just click it and it may prompt you to update the driver.
or Right click on it and select uninstall.
– Wait a moment to refresh it.
– Unplug your iPhone from computer and plug it again.
– Windows will reinstall its drivers.

The driver shows up as something like
Computer\NAME\Internal Storage\DCIM\800AAAAA
