New Parking Meters – Los Angeles

So we are learning about some new parking meters in Los Angeles, in particular in the North Hollywood area, it now costs $1 per hour and you can only park for 1 hour, so you go see a movie.

Also it is not free to park after 6pm as it used to be.

I’ve been to many parking meters which have not worked, apparently you have to call the number on the meter in order to not get a ticket.

If you park at a FAILED meter and call it in (Department Of Transportation Meter Hot Line.
(877)215-3958),give the location code and meter number located on the meter head and it should be recorded and if the meter resets you should be able to contest the ticket.
Hey you can even repot a broken meter online:

Double check the local laws for Loading zones they are usually “free” outside of business hours which are Mon-Sat from 8am to 6pm.
