Legendary guitarist Les Paul passed away today at age 94

“How High The Moon” was a great track, ahead of its time. And then to see Bloomfield, Clapton et al. adapt the guitar sound years later.

Les Paul played Monday nights at NYC’s Iridium for years. Many musicians would come just to see him or to pay homage, and guitarists were often invited to come on stage for a tune or two.

In addition to the guitars, multitrack recording, etc. Les was just a nice guy. He was always smiling and friendly, and had advice for any musician who needed it. Showing how open he was, “Howdy” is how he would sign autographs.
