The hydrokinetic turbine will produce up to 2 kW of renewable energy in this canal. This demonstration is of installation and mechanical operation; no generator is installed. The rotor is 8-blade Flipwing design, the cage is 5x5x10 ft in size and 800 lbs. Installation was accomplished in one hour. The turbine operated for 20 hours and was removed the next day. Removal took less than one hour. Instant hydropower!
