Please join the Caltech/MIT Enterprise Forum for their annual software program this year focusing on Cloud Computing. Our keynote speaker, serial Internet entrepreneurs, and panelists will share their knowledge of cloud computing, offering guidance, insight and practical tips for young ventures on how to best exploit the “cloud”. Our panel will explore questions such as:

Peter Coffee is Director of Platform Research at salesforce.com. He joined the company in January of 2007 after spending 18 years as a technology analyst and columnist at the industry magazines eWEEK and PC Week. He currently works with enterprise and commercial developers to clarify their requirements for use of Salesforce.com’s Force.com platform in developing and deploying Software-as-a-Service applications.Peter was previously the first manager of PC planning at The Aerospace Corporation, where he also worked in space systems applications of artificial intelligence techniques. Before that, Peter was a Senior Engineer working in arctic project management and chemical facility construction at Exxon. He holds an engineering degree from MIT and an MBA from Pepperdine University, where he also served as a faculty member for information systems management. He has held other faculty appointments in computer science at UCLA and in business analytics at Chapman College. He is the author of two books, How to Program Java and Peter Coffee Teaches PCs.

As co-founder and CTO of Central Desktop, Arnulf oversees all architecture and product development for the company. Arnulf combines agile technology experience with a business background that spans early-stage start-ups to acquisition. As the original founder of Upgradebase, Arnulf served as President and Chief Technology Officer where he oversaw product development and operations in the US, Pakistan and India. During his 3 year tenure at CNET, Arnulf served as Director of Global Product Marketing where he managed all aspects of new product marketing and development for CNET Channel. Arnulf worked closely with customers, sales teams and the executive committee to oversee the planning, development and launch of new products. Shuki Lehavi is an avid technologist with over a decade of successful experience in managing and developing enterprise applications in the banking, health care, automotive, and mobile industries. Maneesh is a Senior Associate at Miramar Venture Partners. He joined Miramar in November 2006. Maneesh works with Miramar portfolio companies to identify growth drivers and evaluate prospective investment opportunities.Maneesh has more than nine years of product development and operational experience in the high tech industry. Prior to Miramar, he spent six and a half years at Broadcom Corp where revenues grew from $36 million to over $2 billion during his tenure. At Broadcom, he was instrumental in the development and evolution of the cable modem, cable set-top, digital broadcast satellite, and LMDS chip sets. Additionally, Maneesh led the architecture and development of a digital television chip which allowed Broadcom to successfully reenter the digital TV market. Maneesh began his engineering career at TRW’s Space and Electronics Group where he developed communication equipment for military ground stations.

Maneesh’s prior investing experience includes a summer associate position at El Dorado Ventures. He also has product strategy and business development experience in the areas of video-on-demand services and RF CMOS components.

Maneesh has published papers in several technical journals and is the holder of three U.S. Patents. Maneesh holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, graduating with Distinction and Eta Kappa Nu honors. He received his MS degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Communication Systems, from the University of Southern California and his MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management where he was a Deutschman Venture Fellow.

During his career, Stan has produced record revenues for several companies which earned him numerous achievement awards including ICP Million Dollar Sales awards for eleven consecutive years.

In 1988 Stan co-founded MVS Software, Inc. and helped make the company the leader in automated operation products. Later in 1992 Stan founded Arkhon Technologies, Inc. which developed cutting edge software products for the automated network and systems management market. As Founder and CEO, he negotiated fourteen alliance and partnership arrangements with such companies as Hewlett Packard, Oracle, Inference, RSA Data Security and Security Dynamics.

In 1996 Stan was recruited by the venture firm Wies, Peck and Greer to join Sentryl Software as Executive Vice-President, where he was instrumental in bringing the company to profitability and in its subsequent acquisition by Fujitsu Corp. Stan now specializes in helping companies increase their revenue flow, obtain funding and position their organizations and products to achieve their corporate strategic objectives. Stan serves as a member of the board of directors and advisor for several technology and software companies, is a member of the Caltech/MIT Enterprise Forum Executive Committee, and is an active member in the Technology Council of Southern California, Entretech and Japan Exchange Trade Organization (JETRO).

Ashish Soni is a faculty member and Director of the Information Technology Program (ITP) at the Viterbi School of Engineering at the University of Southern California. Under his leadership the department has experienced a significant turnaround in the quality of instruction and become a campus wide leader in integrating emerging instructional technologies both in and out of the classroom.

Ashish is actively involved with the technology industry and consults with startups and Fortune 500 companies in the areas of digital strategy and innovation, social media, online communities, online advertising and emerging Web 2.0 technologies. He is an expert in the strategic and innovative use of technology across different disciplines, and is interested in the intersection of technology and medicine, journalism and social work. He was a strategic advisor to Office of Intelligence at the U.S. Department of Energy, and helped them conceptualize a Global Online Knowledge Ecosystem. He is currently designing a social media and interaction platform for an organization focused on business social responsibility. He is also currently leading a team to build mobile applications that interface with medical devices in collaboration with the Keck School of Medicine at USC. He sits on the advisory board of several organizations including the MySpace Incubator, Slingshot Labs. He keeps his pulse at the edge of the digital world, and is deeply knowledgeable about trends, emerging solutions, platforms and opportunities.

Ashish also teaches classes at USC in the areas of Web 2.0 and Social Media, Building Web Startups, Online Marketing and Strategic Technology Management.

Mr. Soni holds an MS in Computer Science from the University of Southern California.
