AOL Instant Messenger Freeze

I’ve looked everywhere to find a cause and solution.

Anyways, my problem is that one person in my AOL IM causes my AOL IM to freeze. I can send and receive fine to this person and other people. It is just this one person that is causing my IM to freeze. I have tried to reinstall AOL, it also happens with AIM.
I have also tried to delete and re-add this person.
That doesn’t seem to make a difference.

I don’t know what could be causing this one person to freeze my IM when they IM me.

Any thoughts?

It does this every time and I used to not have this problem. I have done everything I can think of to try and fix it but nothing is working. I have the newest version of AIM. I heard it may just be lag from my service provider but it is unknown how to fix it or if it is even the problem. Thank you for your time.
