Laundry to Landscape (L2L) Greywater Program Workshop
EVENT DESCRIPTION: PWP is leading the way to support innovative ways to conserve water. Using greywater is an important way to reduce potable water use and flows to our sewer system. It provides for an efficient means to irrigate plants in your landscape, and provides natural groundwater recharge. Greywater is water from showers, bath tubs, washing machines, and bathroom sinks.
To promote the use of greywater in the City, PWP offers a Laundry-to-Landscape (L2L) greywater program. Laundry-to-Landscape (L2L) greywater systems are simple, affordable, and easy to maintain. With your own L2L system you can irrigate your landscape each time you do laundry, saving you water, time,
and resources. The program provides single family residential customers in depth training workshops on how to install a Laundry-to-Landscape greywater system; a greywater voucher providing $80 towards the cost of the greywater system components; and onsite technical assistance for customers who
participate in the program.
Attend our Free Workshop: To be eligible for the L2L Greywater Program, applicants must attend a two-hour workshop.
PWP has partnered with industry expert, Greywater Action, to provide monthly L2L greywater installation training workshops throughout the year. Experienced instructors will lead you step-by-step through the design process, tailoring a system to fit your home.
This system is legal to install without a permit, just follow 12 basic guidelines you’ll learn about in class.
The workshop will cover:
- How to design a system for your home and landscape
- How to build a system- you’ll create a “mock-up” of a real system with real greywater parts
- What parts you’ll need for your home
- How much greywater you produce and how many plants you can water
- What soaps and detergents are “greywater friendly”
DATE & TIME: Saturday, October 17th, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. *Please arrive by 8:30 a.m. to allow time for parking and check-in
LOCATION: A location within Pasadena is yet to be determined. You will receive an update when the location information is available.

She travels between the US, Canada, and Europe working on and speaking about diverse alternative energy and clean tech projects. Those hoping to attend or give to the nonprofit organization are encouraged to visit www.lineagepac.org to purchase tickets or make a donation.
Hillary Thomas, Artistic Director of Lineage Performing Arts Center states, “This year’s theme, ‘Dance For Joy’, will once again benefit a number of our special programs, including: the Inspired Movement-Dance for Stroke Survivors, Dancing with Autism, Dancing with Parkinson’s, and Dancing Through Cancer.” Thomas adds, “We are celebrating our 15th year and we are extremely grateful to our generous supporters, volunteers and staff; it is a collective effort and one that has allowed us to make a tremendous impact in the lives of others in need. “
The benefit will begin at 6:30 p.m. with hors de oeuvres, from the Arroyo Chop House; an open bar including fine bottles of Chardonnay and Cabernet as well as a specialty cocktail, “Raise the Barre.” Mary Pat Brandmeyer Catering Service will be providing the food with four delectable eateries featuring carved meats, seafood, and pasta, along with an ice-cream sundae station.

The entertainment for the evening is Michael Zigon and his band.

Dancing Through Parkinson’s
Movement for Stroke Recovery
Movement for Alzheimer’s and dementia
Dance for children with autism
Dance for children with cancer
All the above classes are offered for free to the public thanks to grants like the Tournament of Roses Foundation, and thanks to folks who come to our benefit and support the work we do.
Nissan has a track record of not being forthwith with their advertising as two class actions lawsuits have shown. Just the fact that they have settled and modified their warranty is reason for suspicion. It seems Nissan gambles with misrepresenting and what the cost is to the corporation, at the expense of consumers at the potential benefit to fool buyers into falling for misrepresentation.
Nissan again seems to be raising the bar at least in the media, to 107 miles, some have speculated that the new “improved” battery has extended range.
Any EV automaker needs to be careful about how it presents to buyers what the actual range will be and how it warranties their batteries. Nissan has not been a good example of this as two class action lawsuits have shown.
Two executives from Nissan are in the media recently with claims on the 2016 Nissan LEAF.
Andrew Speaker, Director of Nissan Electric Vehicle Sales & Marketing
Tony Weeks, Nissan’s Senior manager of Electric Vehicle Marketing
Nissan is offering the 30kWh battery on the two top of the line 2016 SL and SV models. The price will also go up.
The S model will continue to have the 24kWh battery and 84 mile range per charge.
The top of the line SL will now be priced at almost $37,000.
