Chefs Christina Tosi and Zoe Nathan will share their perspectives on inventing desserts, with a particular emphasis on pie. Here, the students of the Science & Food undergraduate course will present results from their final projects, including live taste tests of apple pies. Final projects will be judged by a panel of esteemed local chefs, scientists, and food critics including Christina Tosi, Zoe Nathan, Jonathan Gold, and UCLA Professors Andrea Kasko, and Sally Krasne. Discussion moderated by Professor Amy Rowat.

APRIL 21 – FESTIVAL KICK-OFF CONCERT 7pm


Start your week off with an exciting selection of LA contemporary dance companies showcasing Fuse Modern Dance Company, Kenneth Walker Dance Project, Kybele Dance Theater, Liz Hoefner Adamis, Nancy Evans Dance Theatre, Robin Conrad Dance and The Union Project Dance Company.

APRIL 25-26 – EMERGING CHOREOGRAPHERS SHOWCASE 8pm

Join us for an exciting selection of some of L.A.’s finest up-and-coming choreographers. This
year showcasing Carly Dobsen & Dancers, Chasen Dreamz, Dantugan Dance Theatre, HD Movement Project, James Hansen Assemblage Dance, Kerrie Schroeder Pickup Company, LA

APRIL 27 – FESTIVAL CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS 8am–6pm

Classes are open to all levels through professional – from ages 12 through adult. Dancers and fitness enthusiasts may select from a wide variety of classes including African, Ballet, Bollywood, Choreography, Salsa, Hip Hop, Modern and more. Highlighted classes included Krump with Krump Pioneer Marquisa ‘Miss Prissy’ Gardner from David LaChapelle’s critically acclaimed documentary Rize, and Modern taught by Mark Morris Dance Group company members which will also serve as an audition for the MMDG summer intensive at the Lineage Performing Arts Center in June. New this year is the addition of a special Adult Class Track for dancers 18 and older.

 

APRIL 27 – STUDENT SHOWCASE MATINEE 2pm

Highlighting some of the great young dancers around the L.A. area including Brockus Conservatory of Dance and Musical Theater, The Colburn School’s Trudl Zipper Dance, Compass Dance, Flintridge Preparatory School Dance Department, Idyllwild Arts Academy, Leverage Dance, On The Edge Dance Company, Versa-Style Next Generation, Vonder Haar Center for the Performing Arts. Pre-Sale Matinee Ticket Only: $10 online, $15 at the door.

APRIL 27 – PASADENA DANCE FESTIVAL CONCERT 8pm

Don’t miss an unforgettable evening of dance! Presenting eight diverse dance companies, including the contemporary choreography of Lineage Dance with live music from Jazz musician Chris Pierce and the street styles of The Underground featuring the talent and choreography of Krump Pioneers Marquisa ‘Miss Prissy’ Gardner and Christopher “Lil’ C” Toler of So You Think You Can Dance. Also featuring Beats Per Minute, Blue13 Dance Company, F.Y.V. Group, Luminario Ballet, SoleVita Dance Company and Terri Best Dance.
