Security Tokens and Blockchain @EntForumCaltech

Building the Infrastructure for Tokenizing Ownership of Non-Crypto Assets

Blockchain technology provides a means by which a secure database may be replicated reliably in multiple locations, with protection against fraudulent transactions. A very high value application of Blockchain is the reliable recording of ownership of things in the real world, ranging from stocks and bonds, to real estate, even to ownership of fine art.

Blockchain shows promise for leveling the playing field as the world shifts from a small number of computer systems that monopolize their respective markets to a set of databases that can be distributed and coordinated among independent players. To do that will require the development of technologies and technical infrastructure that do not yet exist. Now and in the near future, there will be many opportunities for entrepreneurs who produce the technical solutions.

This program will sort out the various opportunities and will attempt to identify which current players are likely to continue to dominate the marketplace and become customers for the new technologies.
