Nissan LEAF Charging Alert App Idea

Here’s an idea for the Nissan LEAF.

It would be very helpful, if there was a way to setup an alert that would send a message/text or email or even call you if your charge or range is below a certain point.

Here’s the concept.  I get home and forget to plug in the LEAF, and I have to drive to the office in the morning, but it is 50 miles, the car has a range of 40 miles currently, if I could get an alert that would alert me every 2-3 hours, about the status of the charge level on the LEAF, that would be very helpful.

The one problem I see is that the LEAF operates on the AT&T wireless mobile network, which is not the most reliable as I have experienced not only with the Nissan LEAF app on the iPhone or voice calls, data, or texting.

You send for an update, and it is hit or miss, the only thing that is successful most of the time, is the request for Carwings update being sent, no guarantee that you will get the update.
