We are getting excited! Some of the cherries are starting to turn yellow and a few even have a hint of red showing (we will be posting some new pictures on the web site www.upickcherries.com in a couple of days).
Right now we are pampering the trees with lots of water and fertilizer exactly as indicated by our leaf analysis.
UNFORTUNATELY, the cherries are ripening slower than we thought they would. We will NOT be able to open on May 30th. We may still be able to open on June 6th but won’t know for sure for a couple of weeks. The best picking with the most ripe Bings and Rainiers will be from June 13th thru the 5th of July! We’ll certainly be open every day during that time frame and you’ll have lots and lots of delicious cherries to choose from.
Remember, there is never an entrance fee or a parking fee at Villa del Sol. You just pay for the cherries you pick.
In case you didn’t notice this on the web site, we love to give to charity so if your non profit organization brings a group of 25 people or more, we will donate 10% of that groups sales to the charity right on the spot! So tell your favorite charity or church to put together an outing to the cherry orchard and raise some donation money at the same time.
