Dr. Anthony T. Materna Memorial Program on Medical Technologies

THE DNA OF BIOTECH ENTREPRENEURS
IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

Saturday, October 5, 2013

What kind of an entrepreneur succeeds in Biotech? What’s in the DNA of the Biotech Company that drives it to success? Our October 5, 2013, program will decipher the complex “business and technical ecosystem” that nurtures a viable Biotech Company and drives it to success.

We will examine questions and issues such as: Opportunities for entrepreneurs in biotech that do not require large capital investment; areas of University biotech research likely to be yield commercial applications; the nature of cross-disciplinary teams required to succeed in Biotech today, i.e., the roles of expertise in biochemistry, computer science, data analysis techniques, physics, mechanical engineering and mathematics; Likely methods and sources of financing; levels of regulatory compliance to bring products to market.
