Sprint Exclusive Carrier of Apple iPhone5?
There are reports that Apple has made arrangements with Sprint regarding a long term commitment by Sprint to the iPhone. We will see how this plays out in the next 24 hours, but reports are circulating that this deal is worth over $20 billion and that the board with Dan Hesse agreed to the arrangement.
Is Sprint this desperate for the iPhone, do they feel that there is enough demand to drive the purchase of over 30 million iPhones in the coming years?
Or does Apple feel that AT&T is not the best partner for service when it comes to the Apple iPhone?
We have seen that AT&T turns a deaf ear to consumers and really doesn’t care when it comes to improving service, and the T-Mobile acquisition is another example of how AT&T believes it can eliminate competition and reduce overhead while doing little to nothing to improve service.
So who is left out in the cold on this deal? Should consumers jump ship to Sprint and see how that plays out? Will the unlimited data plans that Sprint offers today still be available 2-3 or 6 months from now?
One thing is certain from what we hear. Tim Cook will be announcing at least one new iPhone, most likely the iPhone 4S, we don’t know if the iPhone 5 will be announced at the same time, but it very well may.
