Dear Bite Back Champion,
We’re launching a study to improve the way we detect and trap day-biting Aedes mosquitoes in your neighborhood, and we need your help!
We’re looking for homes where we can place two small, non-toxic outdoor traps for the month of September.
These traps are called ovicups, and they collect mosquito eggs. A technician will place them in front of your home, then visit each week to remove the eggs. There will not be an increase in mosquitoes due to this study.
With this study, we hope to learn whether brand new plastic is attractive to Aedes mosquitoes, or if it must be aged before they use it as breeding habitat. This knowledge will help our agency be more effective at reducing mosquito sources and make your communities more bite-free.
