Free Viagra and painkillers for the unemployed

Pfizer is reinstating its plan, which started at the beginning of last year to give out free Viagra as well as medications from a list of 70 different drugs produced by the pharmaceutical giant. Though, you have to have been taking at least one of the medications on the list for a minimum of 3 months to be eligible for the new scheme.

The reason for this sudden show of charity is related to the slump in the American and world economy, with so many people out of work and in a bad way, it can be hard to pay for medicines. This sounds like a noble cause, but probably isn’t all to do with concern for the average persons well being and may also have to do with keeping a large customer base. With no job and a limited budget, most will turn to the companies that can provide cheaper generic products, which basically have the same chemicals in them. Besides the infamous Viagra drug, another popular medication that made it onto the list is ‘Celebrex’ a commonly used painkiller in the U.S. The scheme is set to run every year and anyone can apply as long as they live in America and have been taking one of the Pfizer drugs on the list of 70.
