USC Student Hit and Run: Suspect Arrested

After the increase of reward to $235, 000 this morning an announcement of a suspect being arrested was made.

5 days after the hit and run a suspect has been arrested.

Black sedan drove the intersection and hit the two students.

The L.A. City Council had approved a $75, 000 reward on Wednesday, adding to the $50,000 reward offered by USC and the $10,000 reward approved by the L.A. County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday.

An anonymous donor had pledged another $100,000 on Thursday to a reward, bringing the total to more than $230,000.

Both students were freshmen at USC who were reportedly returning to their campus housing from a fraternity party.

No further details were released about the arrest.

The USC student 19 years old was killed after being struck at the intersection off campus at USC.
In addition to the female killed there was a male that was injured

Adrianna Bachan, 19, and Marcus Garfinkle were hit as they crossed Jefferson Boulevard at Hoover near the USC campus on Sunday morning.

Bachan was killed, while Garfinkle was seriously injured. The driver stopped briefly at the scene, while his passenger got out and removed Garfinkle from the hood of their car. They fled the scene, leaving the victims on the street.

A news conference is expected later today April 3 2009. by the LAPD.
