Received this email from Miller London and the Urban Network staff:
Dear Friend,
I hope this letter finds you well and in the best of spirits. As you know, it has been a rough year for many publications including Urban Network Magazine. While we had to restructure; like many of our fellow companies, we are still here and going into our 22nd year. Our temporary corporate head quarters are in San Diego, CA. In 2010 the magazine will be printed on a quarterly basis; coinciding with special issue i.e. the highly-coveted Conference Issue, Black Music Month Issue, Independent Artist and Label Salute Issue and The Year-End Issue. The last physical Urban Network book for this year features new Florida sensation Black Dada. Be sure to go to visit www.UrbanNetwork.com to read more about him and his record company Strictly Business.
With the constant and rapid changes in the music industry we are putting the majority of our focus on our digital services including our website (www.urbannetwork.com), digital eMagazine which we deliver to 750,000 consumers monthly; including over 100,000 Gospel tastemakers. Our eblasts and newsletters reach over 1.5 million people monthly. We can also confidently say Urban Network has the largest data base in the industry.
A staple of the Urban Network Marketing and Entertainment Summit is returning in 2010 (details TBA soon). We all are sensitive to the budgetary restraints affecting the music industry and as a result will be slashing our registration rates. “We are discounting our rates, but not our services.”
Databases include, but not limited to:
- 120 million opt in email addresses worldwide total
- 21,000,000 buyers of ringtones, MP3s, digital downloads, and CDs
- 10,000,000 African-Americans
- 10,000,000 cell phone numbers
- 3,000,000 Hispanics
- 3,000,000 Gospel contacts
