With 400 mile range now being slated for the Model S and X updates, we could see 500 mile range with the next model updates, perhaps with smaller battery footprints and intelligent power management systems.
The engineering technology with battery and autonomy that Tesla is developing is outpacing and at scale to leave competitors wondering how they can catch up, perhaps Tesla will license their technology to others.
