Ten Digit Dialing
Starting October 24, 2021, those of us in the 626 area code will need to dial the whole 10 digit number when making local calls. The Federal Communications Commission has created ‘988’ a National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Because 626 area code uses ‘988’ as a current local exchange, dialing the area code is necessary to allow for a national number. For more information please go to: https://www.fcc.gov/consumers/
