Golden Radio Voice Homeless Man – Columbus, Ohio, interview on TV Station in Ohio, This video is going viral fast! – some text

Throwing this video from the Columbus Dispatch out there, hoping we can find this talent a place to call home.

UPDATE: Many thanks go out to all of you who have been tossing phone numbers and e-mails my way for Ted’s sake. I went up to Hudson/I-71 (Columbus) today, but Ted wasn’t there. He is going to be on air tomorrow morning on radio station WNCI. I’ve left my contact info w/WNCI to call/e-mail me on a way to get your enormous opportunities over to him.

I’m going to give him a Trac phone (w/ample minutes) so that he can return calls to all of you.

Hopefully, in some way I’ll get in contact w/him. Peace.

Update:
UPDATE-2: To all those who have been writing me (as one of Ted’s only means of contact), I have learned that the radio station interviewing him tomorrow (1-5-11) a.m. is going to make him a formal offer. Whether true or not, we’ll see.

Hope it works out well for him. That was the whole point of me posting this video. I cannot thank enough everyone who was willing to do their part in offering Ted their helping hand.

Whoever lands him is certainly getting much more than a memorable personality; they’re getting a great human being as part of their team.

My best to all.

Update 1-7-2011a: The Ted Williams story continues to develop, we are now looking into his past, including a rap sheet, could this spell the end of his short lived voice over career, could he be on the streets again?  Ted Williams becomes a victim of hype and media?  Does he deserve a second, third chance?

More info on his rap sheet:
The homeless man with a golden voice has admitted that drugs and alcohol played a role in many mistakes, but The Smoking Gun has now come out with specifics regarding various arrests and citations.

The rap sheet for Williams includes theft, robbery, escape, forgery and drug possession.

As recently as July 2010, a businessman called the cops on this Brooklyn native and a female friend who refused to leave the premises. He told authorities that Williams had become an “ongoing problem” and that the woman often got “dropped off in the parking lot by various and numerous males in different vehicles.”

Update 1-7-2011: The original video that was posted on YouTube has now been removed due to a copyright claim… expect others to be taken down soon as well.

This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by The Dispatch.
Sorry about that.

Update 1-6-2011: We are learning that MSNBC has hired Ted Williams.

“Has been tapped by MSNBC to provide voiceovers for upcoming commercials for its Lean Forward campaign. The commercials will begin airing Thursday evening, when Williams will also appear as a guest on the news channel’s The Last Word With Lawrence O’Donnell”

Update 1-5-2011  1: Ted is no longer jobless and most likely he will no longer be homeless very soon, as he was offered a variety of gigs.
To quote the story: Williams has been offered a job by the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers and is being pursued by NFL Films for possible work after he and his compelling tale became an online curiosity.

“This has been totally, totally amazing,” Williams said in a phone interview with The Associated Press on Wednesday, his voice choking with emotion. “I’m just so thankful. God has blessed me so deeply. I’m getting a second chance. Amazing.” read more
