Target.com Site Crashes on New Clothing Line by Missoni
Update: 9-14-2011 7am: They Target site appears to be handling the traffic, but now most Missoni for Target items are SOLD OUT! But you can still find a few items.
Target was apparently unprepared for online shoppers’ appetite for the items. The Target.com site was down with a WOOF message out for most of the day and as of 6:45pm PST is still down.
Target said demand for items was higher than it was on a typical day after Thanksgiving, and that is usually the biggest shopping day of the year.
Jessica Alba and Jessica Simpson both huge fans.
And if you are still looking for Missoni fashions you can go on eBay.
Racked, a shopping blog, advised readers to call Target’s toll-free number to order items by phone.
Some posters on Twitter suggested using the mobile site. By 5pm, after the products had been available for only 11 hours, eBay was listing 6,600 items for Missoni by Target.
