Some More Good Deals – Nite On The Town

Hi Folks:

A couple of interesting things and good deals for you. Firstly, our favorite B&B in Palm Springs, The Coyote Inn, is offering Nite On The Town members a special 25% off on any rooms booked thru June 30. This is a charming little hideaway in the Tennis Club area of Palm Springs – great views and easy walking to all the fine dining and fun of downtown Palm Springs, perfect for a quick getaway. To get the 25% off you must mention you are a Nite On The Town member. Check it out at www.coyoteinn.net. Below are two interesting restaurant deals that fellow member Martha Hubner forwarded to us. Thanks Martha! Note: I believe the entree deal at La Grande Orange is valid on Monday & Tuesdays. Check with the restaurant

We have 2 great deals and fun options for you and your members:
1. Le Grande Orange (LGO)
260 S. Raymond Ave.
Pasadena (626) 356-4444
It’s the old train station – completely restored and turned into a great restaurant! It’s located at the Del Mar Metro Station, so it can be a fun ride to the restaurant with kids or a great place to meet friends from the West-side or great way to avoid a designated driver! Great comfort foods, superb Ahi tuna or organic fried
chicken breasts served with a cinnamon roll, fun and delicious deviled eggs appetizer, the best Brussels sprout salad (yes, I’m serious and it’s outrageously good), plus beef, fish and pork dishes. We’ve been for
breakfast, lunch and dinner and enjoy it every time. Also, we are continuously looking for the best summer patio and I think this is it. They are very kid-friendly and have special prices from 5 to 7 p.m. for kids. If you want a more quiet meal, plan on going after 7:00 p.m., or I recommend trying to sit on the patio. THEIR
CURRENT SPECIAL IS: Buy 1 entrée, and the 2nd entrée is $5.00. This is a great deal – especially when you combine it with the fact that you can bring your own wine and there is no corkage!!!! This is a huge savings for whatever reasons and probably the best deal in town. They also have a full bar and fun bartenders who are clever with interesting drink suggestions! This special was supposed to run just through May, but they have extended it probably through summer, so take advantage of it. The service is way above the normal experience and so is the food. Enjoy this one! Even the art is good.
2. Underground chef in Los Angeles (this has been going on the San Francisco and New York, etc., for a while, but this is the first I’ve heard of her in LA)
Chef Matt Roberts and his wife Jackie are serving dinner Friday and Saturday evenings. They have taken over Zanzabelle’s ice cream parlor at
2912 Rowena Blvd
Silver Lake, CA 90039
Matt and Jackie Roberts at: 626-243-3686 and email at
Call for reservations A MUST. Fun location with the giant giraffe out front, but the food inside is clever and el-yum-orama! He’s doing a fix prix 3-course meal each night and can do a vegetarian version, if you like. It is absolutely amazing what he can do – and he picks the freshest and best ingredients. The prices are great too. Call for the price for the evening because it varies. We will definitely go back. Use the email to
get on his mailing list and that way you’ll know what he’s serving. The night we were there he did sea bass in an incredible both. Most memorable that evening was the 1st course salad with a wonderful Roquefort cheese paired with tiny slices of fresh, sweet, peaches. It was amazing! Our cost was $27 per person. The
comfort food nights are even less! This is a find and very fun to try!!
