We’ll be the first to admit that our best laid plans for a gourmet Food Truck Festival in the infield at Santa Anita (on Jan. 29) got away from us.  Successful? Yes. Too successful? For sure. We left a lot of people unhappy. The lines were too long and some people didn’t get a chance to sample some great food.

We had 23 trucks…which is an awful lot of trucks compared to almost every venue in L.A. County. We placed them in one third of our  infield.   We had good research, solid plans, a beautiful location and a terrific variety of serious food.

The response was overwhelming. The track’s attendance that day was 26,694.  Over 10,000 visited the infield for the Food Truck Festiva! l.  The lines kept growing and growing and growing.  Foodies know that every meal is made to order and we just couldn’t get everyone served.

So we apologize and we’re making sure that we get it right this time. We’ve booked over 70 trucks for Saturday, April 2.   Plus we’re turning over our entire infield —the size of eight football fields—to food trucks.

We’ll still have a big family fun day with face painters and moon bounces and pony rides and a giant playground.

There’s no presale this time which slowed down entrance at the gates. General admission to the track is only $5.00 and that covers your entrance into the infield. No presale. No advance sa! le. No wristband.  Just get yourself inside the track and you’re at the Food Truck Festival, too.

Gates open 10:30 am.  Food Trucks start selling at 11 am. First race 12:30 pm.

Sincerely,

Allen Gutterman
