The Rose Bowl Stadium Renovation

To keep the Rose Bowl “in the game” for future generations, the Rose Bowl Operating Company(RBOC) and the City of Pasadena – along with the stadium’s primary football tenants, the Tournament of Roses and UCLA – have set the following goals:

  • Preserve the Rose Bowl’s status as the premier college football venue and a National Historic Landmark
  • Enhance the experience for fans and athletes
  • Elevate public safety and facility operations to contemporary standards
  • Increase long term revenue capabilities

Based on their Strategic Plan and Concept Package , the RBOC has developed a multi stage renovation plan set to begin January 2011. The “Project” is a combination of individual projects that need to be constructed in a sequence that not only makes sense for the total project outcome, but also that the Rose Bowl will be a working site and construction logistics and staging must be considered. Therefore, a preliminary sequencing plan has been established that can be constructed without shutting down the entire concourse during any given construction period.

Outside of the press box facility, all of the other projects should be able to be constructed between football seasons. There are three work sequences:

  • Sequence 1 Construction Dates 1/2011 – 8/2011
  • Sequence 2 Construction Dates 2/2012 – 8/2012
  • Sequence 3 Construction Dates 1/2013 – 8/2013

The Press Box construction is set to begin 1/2012 and continue through 8/2013.

Be sure to attend the Rose Bowl Stadium Games and get a first look at this Project and the wonderful improvements that will result for the Rose Bowl Stadium. You will leave with the latest information and great memories of your day of fun inside the Rose Bowl Stadium.

Honor the Past * Prepare for the Future

Come inside the Rose Bowl Stadium for fun and games and join the Rose Bowl Family!
